John L. Sannicandro, 88
John L. Sannicandro of Wareham, MA (formerly of Milford, MA), died peacefully on February 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old.
Born and raised in Milford, MA John attended Milford Public Schools. He was proudly enrolled in the Army National Guard. He worked as a machinist for many years at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale, MA. When Drapers closed, he then worked for many years in ECO Engineering at Data General Corporation headquarters in Westborough, MA and then retired from Data General. In his retirement, he and his beloved wife Pat of almost 67 years, opened up their own business of antiques and eclectics called The Curiosity Shoppe in Mendon, MA and also Three Spruce in Blackstone, MA. Eventually, he and Pat fully retired, moved to Cape Cod, and finally settled in Wareham, MA.
John was a loving and devoted husband. His children lovingly nicknamed him “BB”. And most will also remember him as “Tubby”. He loved watching all New England sports, but if you knew John, you knew his favorite sports team was the Boston Celtics. He collected and was given so many Celtics memorabilia and was very proud of his Celtics license plate.
John leaves behind the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Dalio) Sannicandro; four sons - Louis and his wife Lisa of Blackstone, MA, John (Jack) and his wife Beth of Blackstone, MA, James and his partner, Eva Bedrick of Plymouth, MA, and Thomas of Wareham, MA. He also leaves his daughter Lauren and her partner Jeff Phillips of Uxbridge, MA. John’s two grandchildren are Erika (Ferrucci) Floum and her husband, Eric, and Jared Sannicandro. He also leaves his two great grandchildren, Rory and Renley Floum. He is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Anita as well as his older sister Joanne and her husband, Richard Taylor and his nephew, Richard (Rick T) Taylor, and sister-in-law Elaine, wife of John’s brother, Stephen. He also leaves his dear sister Jeanne DiGirolamo and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with John’s wishes, he will be cremated and a Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 11:00a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham, MA under the direction of Chapman Funerals & Cremation of Wareham, MA.
