Vineyard Wind – New Bedford and Beyond
Event Date:
Join the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries on Tuesday, May 7, at 2 p.m. to hear local photographer Nancy Edwards give a slide presentation on the Vineyard Wind project which is being assembled in the Port of New Bedford. Through photographs that she’s taken since the first barge arrived in New Bedford in 2023, Ms. Edwards will document the effort to build 62 offshore wind turbines in the largest offshore wind development in the United States. She will share information about the project that she’s gathered from Vineyard Wind administrators, City officials, fishing industry personnel, and others. The presentation will be held at Southworth Library.
Nancy Edwards is a local photographer who was born in New Bedford, raised in Dartmouth, and has recently returned to the area. She has made almost daily visits with her camera to the New Bedford hurricane barrier to record the different phases of the Vineyard Wind project.
Ms. Edward’s presentation will be held in the Haskell Room at Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street, South Dartmouth. For more information, please e-mail fodl.libraries@gmail.com.
